Note from the Principal

Hondo ISD Families,

It goes without saying that we are all saddened by the senseless violence directed towards our neighbors to the west, Uvalde CISD.  The towns in our region of Texas are tied together by geography, by circumstance, and especially by kinship. Hondo ISD stands together in our mourning for and support of the families of Robb Elementary and all of those in Uvalde and throughout the region touched by this tragedy.

In our schools, we are doing our best to balance safety and vigilance with the need to provide normalcy and continuity for our own student body in the absence of a specific reason to interrupt their end of school plans.  I want to assure you that we have heightened security protocols at every campus and that a police presence has been and will continue to be visible. We also are providing counseling for any students that request it. If your student has a need or concern stemming from the incident yesterday, we will do our very best to address it in a sensitive and caring manner.

Respectfully,
Jeff Clouse
Principal
Hondo High School
